Keira Knightley to join live-action Disney re-telling of 'The Nutcracker'

            We’ve been reporting on live-action Disney movies all summer long, they could be the new upward trend in the mass movie market. Today, an Oscar-nominated actress joined Disney’s live-action take on The Nutcracker.

            According to The Playlist, Keira Knightley has joined The Nutcracker which was announced this past spring. Lasse Hallstrom (Chocolat, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) is set to direct and Knightley joins a cast that is growing quickly. Morgan Freeman, Mackenzie Foy and Misty Copeland have all jumped on board the film which will mix elements of both the classic ballet format and the original story written by E.T.A Hoffman.

            Keira Knightley is one of my favorite actresses working today though and I absolutely loved her in the film, Begin Again. What do you guys think? Do you believe she’s a good fit as The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker?
