'Mayans MC' teaser reveals spinoff of popular FX series

There has been massive interest in building a spinoff series for “Sons of Anarchy” for FX for a quite a bit of time. It’s been a long road, but we finally have a teaser for the upcoming, “Mayans MC” based in a post Jax Teller world and following the rival gang of the Sons, the Mayans.

            The teaser doesn’t reveal much at all but show the backs of the titular crew riding along a highway to a Spanish version of Rolling Stones song, “Paint it Black.” The series will star JD Pardo as EZ Reyes, who is fresh out of prison and is a prospect of the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border. The series also stars Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas and Richard Cabral.

            I’m a big fan of Kurt Sutter’s “Sons of Anarchy” which debuted for the network years ago turning Charlie Hunnam into a leading man. There’s not much to be seen in this teaser so I can’t give much of an opinion based on a 20-second teaser. The show is set to debut sometime in the Fall with no official date set yet.
