Sarah Paulson to Star in Memoir-Adaptation, 'Untamed' scripted by 'Grey's Anatomy' writer

Sarah Paulson, the queen of television is headed back to the small screen for a project that is close to her heart. According to a report from THR, Paulson will lead the adaptation of the memoir Untamed, written by Glennon Doyle. The series will be penned by Krista Vernoff, whose best known for credits such as Grey's Anatomy and Station 19. Untamed will be shopped soon to both streamers and networks for a chance to attach themselves to the show, which will star Paulson as Doyle, a dissatisfied wife and mother who begins to question her identity and all that comes with it after finding herself being attracted to a female stranger setting her on a path to self-discovery. It seems like the perfect next vehicle for someone such as Paulson as a member of the LGBTQ+ community herself. Untamed was a major book, reaching #1 on the NY Times bestseller list upon its release when it was published back in 2020. It spent more than 7 weeks at the top and sold more than 2 million copies.
Paulson has experience in both film and television, though much of her success comes from TV. She earned an Emmy award for her work on Season 1 of frequent collaborator Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson for playing attorney Marcia Clark. She's also been nominated an additional seven times for a Primetime Emmy Award with six of those noms coming from Ryan Murphy-created programs. She recently appeared in one episode each of FX's mega-popular series, The Bear and Prime Video action/comedy series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Paulson will next star alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the horror film Dust.
