It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen Jim Carrey in a starring role. It’s been even longer since Carrey was seen on television. Now, according to Deadline, he’s getting a starring role on the Showtime series, Kidding which will reunite him with Michel Gondry, who directed him in Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.

While the latter film showcased Carrey’s fantastic dramatic work, Kidding will be a 10-episode comedy series which has the actor playing Jeff aka Mr. Pickles, a legendary children’s television host whose life begins to unravel. It sounds like it could be a hilarious idea for a show that will have some wild imagery which makes Gondry a good director to helm the series.

Carrey had a role in The Bad Batch last year but his last major film release was Dumb and Dumber To. In addition to this new series, he has a film in development titled Mr. Toy which covers the life of toy inventer, Marvin Glass.

How do you guys feel about Jim Carrey returning to your TV sets for the first time since In Living Color? Are you interested in this show? Let us know in the comments!
