'Dream Scenario' Trailer Brings Nicolas Cage to Everyone's Dreams in A24's Horror/Comedy Hybrid

    In Episode 14 of The Cinema Wave Podcast, Liz and I talked about some of our most anticipated films for the remainder of 2023. One at the very top of my list was Dream Scenario. The feature film that was originally planned for Adam Sandler to star with Ari Aster to direct has since morphed into a Nicolas Cage-vehicle with Kristoffer Borgli serving as director. The film recently debuted at TIFF to massive critical reception and now, we finally have a trailer.

    Dream Scenario stars Cage as a down-on-his-luck college professor and family man who begins to appear in millions of strangers' dreams. Throughout his newfound attention, nightmarish scenarios start to play out as he tries to navigate the stardom thrust upon him. The trailer is reminiscent of a one floating in and out of consciousness in a creepy way seeing the same face over and over again. It seems to be a perfect dark, satirical surrealist film for A24 that I anticipate doing really well at the box-office due to the cult-like following of its lead actor as well.
