Tom Cruise Flies High Again! 'Top Gun 3' in the works over at Paramount with Cruise, Miles Teller & Glen Powell Set to Return

It looks like Maverick is flying right back into the danger zone! That's right, Tom Cruise, hot off the heels of last year's Best Picture nominee, Top Gun: Maverick is returning to the skies as Paramount has begun developing Top Gun 3 with Cruise (Mission: Impossible), Glen Powell (Anyone but You) and Miles Teller (Whiplash) all setting up deals to return. Cruise was already in the press this week for inking a major development deal with Warner Bros. after years of collaborating with Paramount, however, all parties involved with the Top Gun franchise obviously are looking to capitalize on the massive success that was Top Gun: Maverick. Maverick grossed over $1.4 Billion at the box-office while also garnering six Academy Award nominations winning one. Producers Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison are also rumored to be returning to the franchise, while there is no definitive word yet on whether or not Joe Kosinski will return to direct, however, if the mantle is handed off to someone else, Kosinski will likely stay on to produce.
Cruise is currently filming Mission: Impossible 8, and also has his NASA movie that plans to film in literal space with Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) lined up to helm that ground-breaking feature. Top Gun: Maverick is the highest grossing movie of Tom Cruise's illustrious career.
