Visionary director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy) has a film coming out later this year that just received a trailer and it happens to be one of my favorites thus far in 2017. The movie, titled The Shape of Water is described as an “other-worldly fairytale” and reminds me a lot of some of his other tremendous work so check it out below!

The Shape of Water centers on a lonely, mute woman named Elisa who works in a hidden, high-security government lab in which another life form is trapped within the depths of the underground. The secret classified experiment showcases the relationship and bond that forms between Elisa and this creature in the mysterious, sci-fi flick. I think this original story is exactly what cinema needs right now. It features a terrific cast of character actors and looks to be one of the best that 2017 has to offer.

Check out the trailer below for The Shape of Water! The film stars Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer, Michael Shannon, Michael Stuhlbarg, Richard Jenkins and Doug Jones. The Shape of Water will be released worldwide on December 8th!

What’d you guys think of the trailer for The Shape of Water? Do you think del Toro will have his first bona fide hit since Pan’s Labyrinth? Sound off in the comments and let us know!
