We learned earlier in the week that Tom Cruise suffered an injury on the set of Mission: Impossible 6 and now we’re getting more information on exactly what will happen with the production going forward. Unfortunately, it’s not good news as the injury is serious enough that the movie will shut down for three months while the injury, which is being reported as either a broken foot or broken ankle.

The interesting development that also comes with this is that Henry Cavill may be able to shave the moustache that he grew out for the movie to film his reshoots for Justice League for Warner Bros. Unfortunately, for many of the other supporting actors, it will provide difficult decisions with other movies they have on their respective dockets. Paramount, the studio backing Mission: Impossible 6 will be facing the biggest issue as Cruise was set to shoot Top Gun: Maverick soon and was set for a July 2019 release date which may get pushed back.

Mission: Impossible 6 was originally set to hit theaters on July 27th, 2018 but that’s sure to move now, probably to a September or October release date. The film stars Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Cavill, Michelle Monaghan, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Alec Baldwin, Angela Bassett and Ving Rhames.

All of us here at Cinema Wave wish Cruise a safe and speedy recovery!
