Creed IV in the WORKS, FRANCHISE STAR MICHAEL B. JORDAN will RETURN TO DIRECT

by Darian Scalamoni
In an exclusive interview with producer Irwin Winkler, Deadline has confirmed that Creed IV is in the works. Not only that, but Adonis Creed himself, Michael B. Jordan will return to star and direct after pulling double duty in front of and behind the camera for Creed III.

Winkler was on a panel for the aforementioned third entry in the Creed franchise when he announced the news; "We are planning to do Creed IV right now." The trilogy of boxing films following the son of Apollo Creed's character started back in 2015 when Ryan Coogler developed the project with Jordan. Since then, each entry has had a new director, with Michael B. Jordan now christening himself as the first to helm two entries within the boxing spinoff franchise based on characters from Rocky. The first film earned Sylvester Stallone an Oscar nomination for his role as a then-grizzled trainer for Adonis Creed.

Creed III grossed a franchise high $275 million worldwide despite not featuring Sly as Rocky. The dynamic of Jordan facing off against Jonathan Majors, prior to potential legal troubles, was one that drove people back to theaters for a showdown that earned an overall score of 7.9 from me in my review back in March. Winkler also said that they should head into pre-production in "about a year" so expect the film to hit theaters probably in 2026.
