HBO
had a rough summer and it wasn’t due to their programming. Unfortunately, we
live in a culture where hackers due exist and can complicate the film and
television industry, which we just saw with them releasing some episodes of Game of Thrones before they actually
aired on the premium network. Sometimes, you have to go all out to ensure that
this doesn’t happen again and it seems that HBO has a strategy.
According
to multiple outlets, it appears that the show will shoot multiple endings for
the series finale to keep everyone on their toes and not reveal a definitive
answer of the end of the program. This is a great idea as it not only takes
away from many trying to see the show before anyone else, but also leaves the
actors wondering, in case they accidentally let a big-time spoiler slip or
something. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened as other
prestige dramas such as Breaking Bad
and The Sopranos also filmed multiple
endings for their respective shows.
Unfortunately,
one of television’s all-time greatest show is coming to its inevitable end soon
with the eighth and final season of Game
of Thrones expected to arrive sometime in 2019. How do you guys feel about
the decision to film multiple endings? Do you think it’s a good idea to make
sure the episodes don’t get out early?
