Many
have been waiting for this announcement and finally, we know who will direct
the massive monster battle film, Godzilla vs. Kong. According to THR,
Adam Wingard (The Guest, Blair Witch)
will helm the highly-anticipated movie that will have the Legendary creatures
battle it out.
Godzilla vs. Kong will see the
long-awaited battle between the giant lizard and mega-ape acting as a sequel to
Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla film, the
recent Kong: Skull Island and the
upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
The movie will be written by Terry Rossio, who wrote the 1998 Godzilla film that starred Matthew
Broderick and Jean Reno as well as Shrek
and all of the Pirates of the Caribbean
films. It’s a tough job ahead for Wingard as he must combine the story arcs for
three films he wasn’t attached to at all but he has a massive affinity for the Godzilla and King Kong stories so he should satisfy fans more so than maybe the
two most recent efforts.
Wingard’s
latest film, Death Note, an
adaptation of the popular manga of the same name will air on Netflix later this
Summer and could give fans a good sense of what kind of director he is. That
film is available to stream on August 25th and stars Nat Wolff,
Keith Stanfield and Willem Dafoe! How do you guys feel about Wingard helming Godzilla vs. Kong? Are you more or less
excited for the monster movie coming out on May 22nd, 2020? Let us
