First trailer for 'The Discovery' explores the afterlife with Jason Segel and Rooney Mara

            Netflix has had tons of great success with their original shows but the same chord hasn’t struck through yet with all of their films. A trailer for the upcoming Netflix original movie, The Discovery could change one’s opinion on that though as it welcomes us into an alternate reality.

            The Discovery refers to that finding that Dr. Thomas Harbor has in the film in which he can prove that there is an afterlife. As a result of this, people begin taking their lives in order to get to this so-called afterlife that Harbor speaks of. Jason Segel stars with Rooney Mara, who play a couple trying to prevent these suicides from happening. The trailer is incredibly stylish, beginning with a romantic tone and a doo-wop song playing in the background before morphing into a distortion on screen in which we see an unnerving tale about to unfold. I’m very excited to see this film because of the talent attached and a premise that sounds something like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
