Stranger Things was one of the best new shows of 2016, especially due to the breakout role for Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven. Soon after the show was released, she received rave reviews and signed with a powerhouse agency. Now, she has her first big film role following the success of the sci-fi Netflix smash hit. According to Collider, Brown is set to star in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the sequel to the 2014 film directed by Gareth Edwards. Michael Dougherty (Krampus, Trick ‘r Treat) will direct the film.

There is no news yet on who Brown will be playing in the movie but it’s an exciting prospect for the soon to be 13-year old for her first feature film role to be involved within a franchise and even more, a new cinematic universe being dubbed by Legendary as the “MonsterVerse” that will expand further this year. The first Godzilla film in this new universe starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston and follows the rise of the titular monster who helped defend humanity against other terrestrial creatures known as MUTOs.

The MonserVerse will only grow as Kong: Skull Island will be released on March 10th followed by Godzilla: King of the Monsters on March 22nd, 2019. These two solo films will happen before the highly-anticipated Godzilla vs. Kong battle film will be released on May 29th, 2020.
