'Booksmart' Star Molly Gordon Joins Season 2 of 'The Bear' on FX

Molly Gordon (Booksmart, Theater Camp) will be headed towards the kitchen as she's set to join the second season of the breakout FX series, The Bear. Season 2 has just been announced as an increase of 10 episodes from the previous season's 8, while getting a premiere date of June 22.

The Bear follows Jeremy Allen White (Shameless) as Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, a top New York City chef who comes home to Chicago to run his brother's family sandwich shop after he commits suicide. It was my absolute favorite show of 2022, and you still have time to catch up and binge the first season before the show returns next month. Gordon's character is under wraps until the second season begins streaming on Hulu. The news was revealed on chef and ensemble cast member Matty Matheson's Instagram page alongside series creator, Christopher Storer.

Gordon is best known for her roles in R-rated comedies such as Booksmart and Good Boys, however, she's becoming much more well-rounded as a multi-hyphenate as of late. She recently co-directed, co-wrote and starred in Theater Camp which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Searchlight Pictures will release that film worldwide on July 14. She appeared in the Netflix comedy film You People back in January and also is within the ensemble for the HBO Lakers series, Winning Time
