If
you’re a fan of the groundbreaking television series Breaking Bad (because c’mon, who isn’t?), you’re going to be excited
about this news. According to Collider,
Vince Gilligan, the creator of the series will be writing and producing a movie
set in the Breaking Bad universe. We
were later told that the series will be following Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman
character after the events of the finale.
The project
is set to be an AMC movie and two-hours long; however, there is no word on if
Bryan Cranston, Bob Odenkirk or any other familiar characters will return for
the film. The movie’s current working title is Greenbriar and is set to start filming in Albuquerque in
mid-November and shoot until early February.
I’m
incredibly excited to see this and though some might believe it would be foolish
for Breaking Bad to go the route of Game
of Thrones and The Walking Dead
with spin-off ideas, Vince Gilligan always seems to give it his all and wouldn’t
do something to tarnish his original series if it wasn’t a good idea. Once we
know more information, we’ll be sure to share it right here at Cinema Wave.
