Kate Winslet's first foray into television lead to tons of critical acclaim for her lead role in Mare of Easttown for HBO last year. The premium cable service wanted to stay in business with the Emmy winner, so they decided to create another limited series with her at the forefront with The Palace. Deadline is now reporting that there has been another exciting addition to the cast in a fellow Emmy nominee.

Deadline reports that Hugh Grant (Love Actually, About a Boy) has joined the cast of The Palace alongside Winslet, Matthias Schoenaerts and Andrea Riseborough. The Palace is a limited series that follows the teardown of an authoritarian regime within the walls of a royal palace. Though details of his character were not revealed, we can tell you that the series will be written by Succession writers, Will Tracy and Frank Rich as well as directed by iconic British director, Stephen Frears (Dangerous Liaisons, Philomena).

Hugh Grant has been involved in all types of projects over the last few years including The Undoing for HBO and A Very English Scandal for Amazon Prime Video. Grant was nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for both performances. The actor also has been nominated for 4 BAFTA awards including a victory in 1995 for his leading role in the romantic dramedy, Four Weddings and a Funeral. Grant will next be seen in 2023's Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves as the villainous Forge Fletcher before starring in Jerry Seinfeld's directorial debut, Unfrosted.
