'Daredevil: Born Again' Disney+ Series Adds Michael Gandolfini to Cast
Back at this past year's Comic-Con, it was announced that an 18-episode series, Daredevil: Born Again would be headed to Disney+ with Cox and D'onofrio reprising their roles. Now, we have news on some new cast members being brought to the show. According to Deadline, Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark, Cherry) is set to join the cast of Daredevil: Born Again which will release on Disney+ in Spring 2024.
There are no details on who Gandolfini will be playing in the series, but some have speculated he may be replacing Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson on the show, while Deadline reports it's possible that he plays a character named "Liam" from Staten Island. However, his character has been said to be a "major" one for the show so keep that in mind. This will be most likely be Gandolfini's biggest part since portraying his late father, James Gandolfini's iconic character of Tony Soprano in the prequel film, The Many Saints of Newark, which follows young Tony navigating New Jersey and the gangster scene years after he becomes the legendary crime boss from the HBO series, The Sopranos.
Daredevil: Born Again is written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord (Covert Affairs). Gandolfini will next appear in the anthology series, Extrapolations for AppleTV+ alongside an ensemble cast that also includes Tobey Maguire, Forest Whitaker and Marion Cotillard among many others. Additionally, he'll also appear in Ari Aster's upcoming film, Disappointment Blvd. due to release in 2023.
