First Trailer for A24's 'Priscilla' Showcases the Presley Relationship from Priscilla's POV in Sofia Coppola's Take on a Relationship for the Ages

Despite what you might think about the film overall, there's no denying that Austin Butler's Oscar-nominated turn in Elvis as the King of Rock 'n' Roll was terrific. Though I wasn't a fan of the film overall, many would think that it's way too soon to tell another story about Presley. But not so fast, the upcoming drama from Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation, The Virgin Suicides) has a much quieter approach as her upcoming film Priscilla will focus more so on the romantic relationship between Priscilla and Elvis Presley, from the wife's perspective.

The first trailer for Priscilla was just released and is an A24 production. The indie production company is one of the most successful in Hollywood currently, having recently taken home seven Academy Awards including Best Picture for Everything Everywhere All at Once and will aim for awards season once again with this film. Priscilla will adapt the 1985 biography, Elvis and Me, which Priscilla Presley wrote with Cailee Spaeny (Bad Times at the El Royale, Pacific Rim: Uprising) set to play the titular role ad Jacob Elordi (Euphoria) is set to play Elvis.

Check out the first short trailer for Priscilla below. The A24 film is due to release sometime in October.
