Emmy-award winning actor Tobias Menzies (The Crown, Casino Royale) is the latest to join the currently untitled F1 racing drama that stars Brad Pitt.

Menzies joins a cast that also features Damson Idris and Kerry Condon in what's shaping up to be a potential awards contender for Apple, which won Best Picture in 2022 with CODA. The film will be led by Pitt as a former F1 racer who returns to the sport after a long layoff. The role that Menzies is set to play is currently unknown. The film is set to begin filming this summer.

Joseph Kosinski, the high-octane filmmaker who directed Top Gun: Maverick will direct the pic for Apple Studios and seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton will produce under his Dawn Apollo Films production company. Ehren Kruger (Top Gun: Maverick, The Ring) will pen the script.

This project will be the second collaboration with Pitt, as he recently wrapped filming a Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) film that stars both him and George Clooney. Pitt and Clooney also co-produced that movie and Pitt had such a great collaborative process with Apple that he signed on for the racing feature.

Menzies currently stars in A24 dramedy You Hurt My Feelings opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Owen Teague and Arian Moyaed. Menzies is best known for his television roles in shows such as Game of Thrones, Rome and Outlander. He also won the Supporting Actor Emmy award in 2021 for playing Prince Philip, the former Duke of Edinburgh. He'll next star in AppleTV+ series Manhunt, for which he'll play Edwin Stanton, the confidant and secretary of war of Abraham Lincoln, who is on the hunt for John Wilkes Booth after the assassination of the President. The series is based on James Swanson's novel, Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer.
