Netflix Charts 2023 Film Slate Telling Viewers to Save the Dates for Films with Gal Gadot, Chris Evans, Adam Sandler, Millie Bobby Brown and Many, Many More

    Earlier today, Netflix released its 2023 video preview for their original feature films list which included release dates for some of their biggest movies. Some will be feature films wrapping up series, others include sequels to Netflix hits while some will also look to span universes of their own.

    The following films are set to be released in 2023 from the streaming giant due to an accompanying press release with release dates attached: 

JANUARY 27
You People 
starring Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill, Nia Long, Lauren London, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Duchovny
You People follows a rideshare mix-up between Ezra Cohen (Hill) and Amira Mohammed (London) which bring the two together in a modern romantic comedy that clashes cultures and interfaith relationships as they meet each other's families. Ezra's progressive and woke parents (Louis-Dreyfus and Ducohvny) come together to meet Amira's firm and concerned parents (Murphy and Long) who look to inject themselves into their children's lives. The film is co-written by Jonah Hill and black-Ish creator Kenya Barris with Barris directing as well. 

FEBRUARY 10
Your Place or Mine
starring Reese Witherspoon, Ashton Kutcher, Jesse Williams, Zoe Chao, Rachel Bloom, Steve Zahn and Tig Notaro
Debbie (Witherspoon) and Peter (Kutcher) are best friends and total opposites who decide to swap houses for a week as Peter takes care of Debbie's son in NY, while Debbie heads for a week to live and thrive in LA, once they switch places, they discover that what they think they might want might not be what they really need. The film is produced by Witherspoon and Jason Bateman while written and directed by The Devil Wears Prada screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna in her feature directorial debut.

MARCH 10
Luther: The Fallen Sun
starring Idris Elba, Cythia Erivo, Andy Serkis
The latest in the universe of Luther is an epic feature film continuation of the massive BBC psychological crime series as detective John Luther (Elba) decides to break out of prison to stop a serial killer terrorizing London (played by Serkis). 

MARCH 31
Murder Mystery 2
starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Adeel Akhtar, Mark Strong, Melanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, Annie Mumolo
Nick and Audrey Spits (Sandler and Aniston respectively) return for another adventure, this time as full-time detectives in India as they struggle to get their private eye agency off the ground and become the center of an international abduction at a friend's wedding. 

MAY 12
The Mother
starring Jennifer Lopez, Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, Gael Garcia Bernal, Paul Raci
A deadly female assassin (played by Lopez) comes out of hiding to protect her daughter that she gave up years earlier while on the run. The Batman writer Peter Craig teams with Lovecraft Country creator Misha Green to bring this story to Netflix as Mulan director Niki Caro undertakes the female-led crime film.

JUNE 16
Extraction 2
starring Chris Hemsworth
Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in Netflix's massive follow-up to the blockbuster action film, Extraction. After barely surviving the events from the first film, Rake is back and tasked with another deadly mission in which he will try to rescue the beaten family of a ruthless Georgian gangster. The film series is based on the graphic novel, Ciudad, with franchise filmmakers The Russo brothers attached to produce and write. Sam Hargrave also returns to helm the sequel to one of Netflix's most popular films of all-time.

JULY 21
They Cloned Tyrone
starring Jamie Foxx, Teyonnah Parris and John Boyega
A series of unearthly events brings an unlikely trio (Foxx, Parris and Boyega) together to find what wicked government conspiracy is afoot in this original mystery caper brought together from Creed II screenwriter Juel Taylor who co-writes and directs.

AUGUST 11
Heart of Stone
starring Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt, Sophie Okonedo and Matthias Schweighofer
Gadot stars as Rachel Stone, an intelligence operative and the only woman who stands between her global, peacekeeping organization and a dangerous asset. She leads the Netflix actioner that aims to be their own female-led James Bond or Mission: Impossible for a Summer release directed by The Aeronauts and Wild Rose director, Tom Harper.

AUGUST 25
Lift
starring Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ursula Corbero, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno, Sam Worthington
Kevin Hart returns for his fourth feature for Netflix, this time assembling an international heist crew aiming to prevent a terrorist attack whilst pulling off the heist on a plane mid-flight. Hart has brought together a fantastic team behind the scenes for this action film in the sky. The Batman director Matt Reeves will produce alongside Hart with Oscar-winning screenwriter Emerald Fennell teaming with Simon Kinberg and Daniel Kunka too write the script. Straight Outta Compton filmmaker F. Gary Gray will direct.

OCTOBER 13
Damsel
starring Millie Bobby Brown, Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson
A dutiful damsel (Brown) agrees to marry a handsome prince only before finding out that the royal family has recruited her to be a sacrificial lamb to an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her abilities to survive. 

OCTOBER 27
Pain Hustlers
starring Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Andy Garcia, Catherine O'Hara, Jay Duplass, Brian d'Arcy James, Chloe Coleman
After losing her job, a blue-collar woman (Blunt) gets connected with a racketeering scheme amidst a pharmaceutical start-up headed by a con man (Evans). The following is based on a true story and has assembled a massive cast set to be helmed by Harry Potter director, David Yates.

NOVEMBER 10
The Killer
starring Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell
David Fincher returns to Netflix for his latest directing effort in a story based on a graphic novel where a fateful near-miss assassination, the man-for-hire (Fassbender) battles his employers and himself amidst an international manhunt. Fincher comes back to the streaming home that has also produced his projects such as Mank, Mindhunter and House of Cards.

NOVEMBER 17
A Family Affair
starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, Joey King, Kathy Bates
A surprising love triangle between a young woman, her movie star boss and her mother leads to hilarity as they face the complications of love, sex and identity as P.S. I Love You and The Last Five Years director Richard LaGravenese co-writes and directs a hopeful romantic hit for the streamer.

NOVEMBER 22
Leo
starring Adam Sandler, Bill Burr, Cecily Strong, Jason Alexander, Rob Schneider, Stephanie Hsu, Jo Koy
Sandler returns to another animated universe, this time in a musical comedy about the last year of elementary school, seen through the eyes of a 74-year-old lizard named Leo (voiced by Sandler). The jaded reptile has been stuck in the same Florida classroom for decades along with his terrarium-mate turtle friend (voiced by Burr) but when he finds out he has one year left to live, he plots his escape before realizing it might be harder to escape the classroom than he thinks.

DECEMBER 8
Leave the World Behind
starring Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha'la Herrold, Kevin Bacon, Charlie Evans, Farrah Mackenzie
Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail plots his feature directorial debut with massive producing power behind it in Julia Roberts and the Obamas in this mystery drama that follows a family vacation gone wrong on Long Island. Roberts and Ali star as a couple who are interrupted by two strangers bearing news of a mysterious blackout and while the threat becomes more imminent, they must decide how to best survive the potential disaster. Esmail writes and directs behind this year's potential surprise hit for the streaming service.

DECEMBER 22
Rebel Moon
starring Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, Corey Stoll, Cary Elwes, Jena Malone, Fra Fee
Rebel Moon marks Zack Snyder's magnum opus for Netflix as he plots to set his own Star Wars with this original sci-fi story. When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by a tyrannical army, they dispatch Kora (Boutella), a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to take a stand.
