'The Worst Person in the World' Lead Renate Reinsve Joins Cast of 'Weapons' Opposite Pedro Pascal

Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World) is heading to American horror! Coming from THR, the BAFTA-nominated actress has joined the cast of Zach Cregger's Weapons alongside Pedro Pascal.

Weapons came into focus back in January, as we had previously reported that Zach Cregger was eyeing this original idea as his follow-up to 2022 breakout-horror hit, Barbarian. Streamers and studios came with money in hand to help back Cregger's next potential hit, and alas, New Line won the bidding with a major eight-figure deal that gave a guaranteed greenlight, backend profit and a certified theatrical release before heading to streaming. New Line envisions Cregger as their own version of a tentpole horror voice similar to that of other directors such as Jordan Peele and James Wan.

Details are being kept under wraps still for Weapons, but those close to the situation say that the story is an interconnected horrific epic that is similar to that of Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia. Weapons will span many different characters and stories, and because of this, many actors are clamoring to be in the film. THR's report states that part of the story revolves around a group of high school students disappearing in a small town. We reported last week that Pedro Pascal would be the first casting addition to Weapons, with Reinsve jumping into the fold as well.

Reinsve wrapped the drama A Different Man with Sebastian Stan which is set to release later this year and is currently filming Presumed Innocent, an Apple series opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Negga. She'll start shooting the film, The Governesses alongside Lily-Rose Depp and Squid Game star Hoyeon very soon for the The Last Black Man in San Francisco director, Joe Talbot.
