Beetlejuice is back! Though we've previously reported on casting additions such as Wednesday Addams herself, Jenna Ortega joining the fold as Lydia's daughter, we now have new casting additions as well as an official release date for the sequel of the fantasy-comedy from 1988.

First, as per reported by Deadline, Justin Theroux (Mulholland Drive, White House Plumbers) will join the cast of Beetlejuice 2. Additionally, in a separate exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, we now know that Monica Bellucci (Malena, The Matrix Reloaded) will join the ensemble as well as Beetlejuice's wife. Not much is known as this point in regard to plot for the sequel, however, Michael Keaton will return as the titular ghost with Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara also set to come back. Also, Tim Burton, the mind behind the madness of this supernatural pic will reunite with Keaton, Ryder, O'Hara and Ortega.

Production on Beetlejuice 2 just started this week in the UK, with Warner Bros. locking in a release date of September 6, 2024, for audiences. The original cult classic made $75 million at the box-office and served as a catapult for Keaton's career as he followed up his performance in Beetlejuice to play Batman for Burton twice.

Theroux has had a busy last few years, as he currently has a limited series, White House Plumbers on HBO alongside Woody Harrelson. Additionally, he led the Apple TV+ series, The Mosquito Coast for two seasons. Bellucci most recently appeared in Mafia Mamma, a mob comedy opposite Toni Collette. She'll next voice a character in ARK: the Animated Series which boasts a major ensemble as well.
