It’s finally here. The last trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, arguably everyone’s most anticipated release of the year has been put online and we have it right here for you at Cinema Wave.

The story takes place before the events of A New Hope and centers on a group of rebels who are sent to retrieve the plans for the Death Star. It’s important to know that this will be the first of many upcoming anthology films in the Star Wars universe since Disney purchased Lucasfilm a few years back. We see within the trailer that Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones is recruited by the Rebellion to help get the plans from the Empire because her father, played by Mads Mikkelsen, was kidnapped to help build the Death Star.

The film looks phenomenal and really puts forth that war-movie vibe that they were going for. It looks drastically different from previous Star Wars movies but that’s because it’s supposed to be set apart while still sticking within the canon and lore of the previous experiences people have had with the franchise in the past. We also get a great look at a special iconic villain within the trailer as well.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens everywhere on December 16th. The movie stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jian Wen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed and Forest Whitaker. Check out the trailer below!
