The day has arrived. The first trailer for Logan, the final film in the Wolverine trilogy has arrived from 20th Century Fox. The movie is inspired by Mark Millar’s comic, Old Man Logan and shows Jackman reprise the role as Logan aka Wolverine for the final time. Though we still don’t have the exact premise we know that Boyd Holbrook will be playing the villainous Donald Pierce who leads The Reavers.

This trailer is glorious though, incredibly beautiful but potentially the bleakest X-Men film yet which is evident by the song choice for the trailer (“Hurt” by Johnny Cash which invokes emotional results). The preview reveals that mutants are nearly extinct within this world, Professor X is very sick and Logan is no longer healing. Though we see a girl who the Professor says is “very much like” Logan (we’re guessing X-23 like everyone else), she is still very young and must be assisted by the central protagonists of the X-Men franchise. This trailer is rough and gritty and has me more excited for the movie than I ever was before.

Logan will open everywhere on March 3rd, 2017. It stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Stephen Merchant, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Dafne Keen. Check out the first trailer below!
