Comic-Con is always a special time because fans get new information, footage and surprises for anything in the superhero game for TV and Film. Recently, New York Comic-Con has been more of a showcase for Marvel’s Netflix shows and this year was no different.

First up was the new trailer for the final solo Netflix show revolving around one of the Defenders: Iron Fist. This trailer, in my opinion, was much better than the first one we saw just a few months back. We still need more information about Danny Rand going forward but I’m pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this minute and a half preview for the series.

Iron Fist will be released on Netflix on March 17th, 2017 and stars Finn Jones as Iron Fist but also stars Jessica Henwick, Lewis Tan, David Wenham, Tom Pelphrey, Jessica Stroup and Rosario Dawson. Unfortunately, though for Danny Rand, he was not the biggest news of NYCC. That honor would go to Sigourney Weaver who was announced as the villain for the superhero team-up series on Netflix, The Defenders.

Though it was not revealed who exactly Weaver would be playing in the series, we know that she is a supreme actress who will add a whole other level of intrigue to team-up show. The Avengers of television as they’re commonly being referred to will consist of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. The Defenders will be released in 2017.
