Nightcrawler was one of my favorite movies of the last ten years because of how different and dark of a take it was in the news underworld. Luckily for us, the team behind that movie is coming together again for another movie. According to Deadline, Dan Gilroy will direct Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo in an untitled project and many studios are trying to buy the hot project.

There’s not much news known about the film other than it’s set in the art world, which is interesting especially since Gyllenhaal just starred in an art-based Broadway musical, Sunday in the Park with George. I’m incredibly excited to see this come to fruition as Gyllenhaal is one of my favorite actors in the industry today. He also worked incredibly well with Russo in Nightcrawler so I’d love to see the dynamic between them on screen yet again.

Gilroy is currently filming Inner City, another Los Angeles based thriller that stars Denzel Washington and Colin Farrell that will be released in 2018. Russo will next appear in Villa Capri alongside Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones. Gyllenhaal has one of the busiest schedules in Hollywood today with Okja due out in just a few days on Netflix. He also will star as a Boston Marathon Bombing victim in Stronger and Paul Dano’s directorial debut, Wildlife later this year.
