It
seems that Triple Frontier has been a
doomed project from the start. For over a year, many stars have joined and
dropped out of the project that has moved from Paramount to Netflix. Variety
is now reporting that Ben Affleck joins the long list of stars who have exited
the project.
Originally,
the film was to star Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy and recent Oscar-winner,
Mahershala Ali. Tatum and Hardy dropped out and were replaced by both Ben and
Casey Affleck. Casey Affleck is still on board to our knowledge but the elder
Affleck is focusing on his role as Batman going forward. This is more
unfortunate news for a movie that I was originally anticipating quite greatly.
Having two Oscar winners on board still is enticing but with many stars
dropping out of the latest from J.C. Chandor has me questioning if this movie
will get made at all.
Ben
Affleck will be seen next as Batman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League which hits theaters on November 17th. He’s
also set to reprise his role as Christian Wolff in an untitled sequel to his
2016 movie, The Accountant.
