Though earlier reports before casting didn’t expect to
see James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult
returning for the sequel to X-Men:
Apocalypse, we now can confirm that they did re-up their contracts to
appear in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. THR
is now also reporting that Evan Peters, who appeared as Quicksilver in Apocalypse and Days of Future Past will also return to play the mutant speedster
in Dark Phoenix.
Many
were nervous when Peters wasn’t seen in the recent first day of shooting photo
that featured the cast and he also could’ve potentially had a scheduling
conflict with the upcoming season of American Horror Story but he will, in
fact, return in his role. This is great news as Quicksilver is one of the most
beloved new characters in the most recent X-Men
movies.
Peters
joins McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence, Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan,
Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Jessica Chastain in Dark Phoenix. He’ll appear in Dabka
later this year with Al Pacino and Barkhad Abdi as well as American Animals with Blake Jenner.
