Lakeith
Stanfield has truly grown rapidly in Hollywood as one of the busiest young
actors in the industry. From his first role in Short Term 12, he’s become a mainstay on television and film with
roles in Atlanta, Dope, Get Out and War Machine. Now, he’s leading a film of
his own titled, Crown Heights that
premiered at Sundance Film Festival and we have the first trailer for you guys
below!
Crown Heights follows Stanfield as Colin
Warner in the true story of a man who was wrongfully convicted of murder at the
age of 18 in the streets of Brooklyn. Meanwhile, Colin’s childhood friend, Carl
“KC” King pushes himself to the limit trying to fight to get Warner’s freedom.
The trailer seems to have a lack of focus and could be an acting showcase for
Stanfield and Nnamdi Asomugha, the former NFL player but other than that, I’m
not jumping out of my socks for this one based on the preview.
