Strike Hard, No Mercy! 'Cobra Kai' Set to End with Season 6 for Netflix

Cobra Kai has stood the test of time outlasting what everyone could've imagined for the series based on the Karate Kid film franchise. However, it seems the sun might be setting on the popular Netflix show as the streaming service released the video below recapping the series thus far and revealing that it would be returning for one final fight with a sixth season. The Hollywood Reporter also shared a tweet from the creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg regarding the journey that Daniel LaRusso, Johnny Lawrence and the rest of the Cobra Kai crew has been on throughout the series' inception.

Cobra Kai was first greenlit by YouTube when they tried to get involved in the streaming wars in May 2018 and aired for two seasons on YouTube Red/Premium before being sold to Netflix. The first season takes place in 2017 and acts as a jumping off point for what the creators deem, "The Miyagi-verse" giving a glimpse of the events of the films from William Zabka's character Johnny Lawrence's point of view before returning to his feud with Ralph Macchio's character, Daniel LaRusso. The series also acted as a springboard to blossoming young talent in the industry including Xolo Mariduena, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanon and Peyton List. The seasons have added many other iconic characters from the movie franchise throughout its previous five seasons including John Kreese, Terry Silver, Chozen, Kumiko and Mike Barnes.
