According
to Variety,
Rob Letterman (Monsters vs. Aliens, Shark
Tale) has signed on to helm the new Dungeons
and Dragons movie. Letterman had been looked at by Warner Bros. for weeks
but when he told them his vision for the franchise, they grabbed him.
Letterman
has had success in the animated field with films like Monsters vs. Aliens and Shark
Tale, yet his biggest achievement might be his most recent film, Goosebumps. It made a solid return at
the box office while also being well received critically.
David
Leslie Johnson (Wrath of the Titans,
Orphan) has been picked to write the script and Hasbro is producing the
movie. Hasbro has their own cinematic universe upcoming with other properties
like G.I. Joe but it is unclear at
this time if Dungeons and Dragons
will be a part of that shared universe.
