Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi horror/thriller film titled, Life. It’s written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who also wrote some very different movies from this in, Deadpool and Zombieland. This trailer is impressive and incredibly creepy, perfect for the recent Halloween season.
Life follows a six-member crew of the International Space Station as they encounter the very first evidence of biological life on Mars-a small, single-celled organism. As they begin to research this specimen however, it proves to be far more dangerous than they could’ve ever imagined. It looks to be a promising movie and I did enjoy the trailer.
It must be the cast that will sell most on this movie though as it stars three of the biggest stars of the last few years: Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Ferguson. Gyllenhaal is going through a 3-year period in which he’s turned in nothing but fantastic performances in movies like Prisoners, Nightcrawler and Southpaw. He’s also set to work with some other notable filmmakers in the next couple of years like Tom Ford, Joon Ho Bong and Antoine Fuqua. Reynolds starred in Deadpool which was a box-office phenomenon and that led to him getting a multitude of roles including this film. Ferguson also had similar success with her role in the most recent Mission Impossible movie which gave her opportunities like Life as well.
Life will be released in theaters on May 26th, 2017. Check out the trailer below!
