Everyone here at Cinema Wave has been incredibly excited for the Han Solo film since it was announced, even more so when we learned that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie) were attached to direct. Then the cast started to come out of the floodgates with Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson all being cast in the Star Wars anthology film. Now, we have another exciting cast member attached to the high-profile project. According to Variety, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is in talks to join the movie in a “key CGI role”.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge was one of the best actresses in 2016 in my opinion as her starring role in the Amazon series, Fleabag was absolutely astounding. She showed tons of range in the comedy that had true dramatic and tragic elements to it which makes her all the more impressive of a casting addition. The report says that the CGI character will be a significant member of the ensemble similar to roles in past Star Wars films like Chewbacca and C-3PO.

Waller-Bridge will be seen next in the A.A. Milne biopic, Goodbye, Christopher Robin which stars Domhnall Gleeson as the author of the Winnie the Pooh stories. Filming is also underway for the second season of Fleabag as you can watch the first season on Amazon Instant Video now! The currently untitled Han Solo anthology film will be released on May 25th, 2018.
