First trailer for 'The Circle' stars Emma Watson in a social media thriller

James Ponsoldt has become one of the best young directors in Hollywood with his last two films, The Spectacular Now and The End of the Tour, but it’s his new project that might bring him to great new heights. The first trailer for his latest effort, The Circle was released today as he dives into the Sci-Fi genre.

            The Circle is based on the beloved novel of the same name by Dave Eggers and stars Emma Watson as a young woman who joins a social media company run by a charismatic figure who encourages his employees to live their lives with complete transparency. This trailer is fantastic and gets me even more excited for a movie that I was already previously excited for. This movie is in an interesting position because though it is timely, Black Mirror has mastered this same message about how technology can ruin lives so it can seem somewhat repetitive. Having said that, I think that Ponsoldt along with this cast can make the subject matter more thrilling than ever.
