Jim Carrey hasn’t been seen much lately on the big screen but he has an awesome new project that’s just been announced. According to Tracking Board, the 2-time Golden Globe winning actor will star in the biopic, Mr. Toy.

Carrey will star as Marvin Glass, a brilliant, paranoid and charismatic figure who was also an amazing toy inventor. Glass and his employees designed some of the most successful toys and games of the twentieth century with Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Lite Brite, Operation and Mouse Trap just to name a few. This seems like a tremendous role for Carrey who is an amazing actor who is great in both comedic and dramatic roles. For a movie that is being described as Steve Jobs meets A Beautiful Mind, it sounds right up Carrey’s alley and could lead to his first potential Oscar nomination which would be well deserved.

Though Carrey hasn’t been in much lately, he’s set to star in two darker, dramatic roles in 2017 with The Bad Batch and True Crimes. He’s also a producer on the upcoming Showtime comedy series, I’m Dying Up Here.
