Suicide Squad was for sure, one of the biggest disappointments of this year, but one of the positives that came out of the movie was the performance of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. After critics raved about her performance, it seemed that Warner Bros. was destined to find another project to involve her in the DCEU beyond the Suicide Squad films and it seems they have done just that. According to Deadline, Robbie will reunite with the director of Suicide Squad, David Ayer for a film titled Gotham City Sirens.

Gotham City Sirens will be an all-female DC villains film that will feature Harley Quinn alongside Poison Ivy and Catwoman to name a few. This is an intruiging idea and I’m hoping they do just as well with the casting for the other femme fatales as they’ve done already with Robbie. The movie will be adapted from the recent DC Comics’ run in 2009 that centered around the Batman villains. I love the news that this movie will be happening but keeping Ayer on as a director is worrisome as his poor writing and direction are major problems of mine with the villain ensemble film that was released this summer in Suicide Squad.

Ayer is close to being done with production on his fantasy thriller titled Bright with Will Smith and Joel Edgerton for Netflix. As for Robbie, she’s set to co-star with Domhnall Gleeson in a currently untitled A.A. Milne Project that looks at the author of Winnie the Pooh and how he was inspired with creating the iconic character. She’s also set to appear in the thriller, Terminal alongside Simon Pegg and Mike Myers that will be seen early next year.
