'Mean Girls' Musical Adaptation Adds 'The Office' Star Jenna Fischer

by Darian Scalamoni
It's been quite a while since Jenna Fischer (The Office, Hall Pass) has had a memorable on-screen role as she's been hard at work on her rewatch series of Office Ladies alongside Angela Kinsey. Now, she's joining a very showy part in the musical adaptation of Mean Girls, per Deadline.

Fischer will play the role of Ms. Heron, Cady's mom who was played by Ana Gasteyer in the original 2004 movie. However, this version of Mean Girls will be based on the Tony-nominated Broadway musical. We reported back in December that the four lead roles would be portrayed this time around by Angourie Rice, Renee Rapp, Auli'i Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey. Also, Tina Fey and Tim Meadows will return to their roles in the film as well that will be produced by Fey and Lorne Michaels as well as directed by Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne.

Fischer last major role was back in 2019 when she co-starred along with Oliver Hudson in the ABC sitcom, Splitting Up Together. She also has feature credits in films such as Clint Eastwood's The 15:17 to Paris, Mike White's Brad's Status and Hall Pass. However, Fischer is best known for her Emmy-nominated role in The Office as Pam Beesly.
