Isabela Merced is the Latest to Join Newest 'Alien' Film from 20th Century

We had previously reported back in November that Cailee Spaeny would be leading the latest feature presentation within the sci-fi horror world of Alien. Now, Deadline has followed up with news that Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight, Instant Family) will join the creature feature produced by 20th Century Studios.

Although there are no plot details yet to be revealed, it's obvious that the terrifying race of aliens known as Xenomorphs will be on full display in the latest reimagining headed by director Fede Alvarez (Don't Breathe, Evil Dead). 20th Century remains hushed on the castings of both Merced and Spaeny up to this point but I'm eager to see who else they add to the franchise going forward.

Merced had a relatively busy 2022, first appearing in the Father of the Bride remake alongside Andy Garcia, Gloria Estefan and Adria Arjona. Following that, she played Juliet in the Romeo & Juliet-inspired film Rosaline for Hulu with Kaitlyn Dever. Merced will return to franchise fare in 2024 with Sony's Madame Web.
