Hugh Jackman is an incredibly underrated talent. He’s
not only been Wolverine for the past 16 years, been nominated for an Oscar but
he’s truly a dedicated and talented performer. He’s just signed on to another intriguing
project as well, according to The
Playlist, Jackman is in talks to have a role in The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.
I
know what you’re thinking, what an interesting name for a project, well the
premise is just as interesting. The movie will be based on the YA novel of the
same name and tells the story of a young teenage boy named Junior who is an
aspiring cartoonist that leaves his school on the Spokane Indian Reservation to
go to an all-white public school. The novel has become a huge success since its
release and covers serious issues that other YA novels usually do in
alcoholism, bullying, poverty and violence. This seems like an interesting idea
for a movie and I can’t wait to see it.
There’s
no word on who Jackman will be playing but I imagine it being a teacher or
someone to help guide Junior once he gets to the public school, similar to that
of Paul Rudd in The Perks of Being a
Wallflower or Jon Bernthal in Me
& Earl and the Dying Girl. Jackman was seen earlier this year in Eddie the Eagle but he’s been pretty
quiet since then. In addition to this new project, he’s set to make his last
appearance as Wolverine in Logan and
he’s currently shooting the PT Barnum biopic, The Greatest Showman.
