It
seems like it was longer since the world of film received a Wes Anderson movie,
as he released The Grand Budapest Hotel
back in 2014. Yesterday, Anderson revealed a first look at his upcoming
animated film, Isle of Dogs. Though production
began yesterday, Anderson’s last stop-motion/animated project Fantastic Mr. Fox took years to film.
Isle of Dogs has a remarkable voice cast
that includes Edward Norton, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Bob Balaban, Bill
Murray, Harvey Keitel, F. Murray Abraham, Frances McDormand, Yoko Ono along
with other Japanese actors Kunichi Nomura, Akira Ito, Akira Takayama, Koyu
Rankin. The movie has been regarded as a “Japanese story” according to
Anderson. As a big fan of Fantastic Mr.
Fox and most of Anderson’s films in general, I’m definitely excited what he
can do with this cast.
