Today,
the first trailer for the highly-anticipated Blade Runner 2049 was released. The movie is a sequel to the 1982
cult classic film that was directed by Ridley Scott. Though there is
essentially no reveal of the plot in the short clip, the trailer is gorgeous
and atmospheric.
Blade Runner 2049 will follow K (played
by Ryan Gosling) chasing after a secret in a future world even more dystopian
than the one that Harrison Ford’s lead character from the first film, Deckard
occupied thirty years earlier. The first look gives us great imagery in terms
of cinematography with foggy streets and silhouetted shots. It’s clear that
director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival,
Sicario) and legendary cinematographer, Roger Deakins are paying homage to
Scott’s original.
Check
out the first teaser trailer for Blade Runner
2049 below! In addition to Gosling and Ford, the movie also stars Mackenzie
Davis, Jared Leto, Dave Bautista, Barkhad Abdi and Robin Wright. Blade Runner 2049 opens on October 6th,
2017.
