First images for HBO's 'The Deuce' showcase the rise of the porn industry in the 1970s from 'The Wire' creator David Simon

            There are tons of new shows on the horizon ready to make their series premiere’s and one of my most-anticipated for the years includes the HBO series, The Deuce. The drama series just did a spread in Entertainment Weekly in which we get a first look at the characters from James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal in the show.

            The Deuce is a New York based drama that takes place in the height of the 70s about the rise of the porn industry. Franco double dips in the show playing twin brothers, Vincent and Frankie Martino. The Martino brothers were key players in NYC that got involved with the mafia by providing fronts for the sex industry’s earliest days. Gyllenhaal co-stars in the show as Candy, the entrepreneurial prostitute who is drawn to the emerging porn business. Even more exciting is that the show was created by David Simon who helmed a show that is regarded by many as one of the best if not, the best show of all-time, The Wire.
