It seems that Ridley Scott is going back to his old form with the newest trailer for his upcoming film, Alien: Covenant that was released just yesterday. This preview looks the closest to the original Alien films of the 70s and 80s and for die-hard fans of the franchise that’s a great sign.

Alien: Covenant will chronicle the crew of the colony ship Covenant bound for a secluded planet on the far side of the galaxy which they believe is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dark and dangerous place. They must escape before the succumb to the clutches of the aliens and Xenomorphs. This trailer might be the most badass I’ve seen in years and really does give a great first look at the modern Xenomorphs. There are some truly terrifying moments throughout and it makes me excited for the franchise going forward.

Check out the new trailer for Alien: Covenant below! The movie stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Noomi Rapace, James Franco and Guy Pearce. Alien: Covenant opens everywhere on May 19th.
