With many people talking about Hugh Jackman and his longevity as Wolverine from 2000-2017, it’s hard to ignore Johnny Depp and his reign as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The fifth and final chapter for the franchise that has been afloat since 2003 has just released a new trailer.

The film titled, Dead Men Tell No Tales sees the return of enigmatic Jack Sparrow and also the return of Orlando Bloom’s character, Will Turner who was introduced in the first film, 14 years ago. The trailer also showcases the main villain, the ghost pirate Captain Salazar played by Javier Bardem. It sure is an interesting preview that actually keeps Depp out of the limelight similar to how some of the earlier films had done. Newcomers Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites seem to fill those holes left behind from Will and Elizabeth to balance out Sparrow. The trailer is actually pretty good all considered as the last few efforts have been a far cry compared to The Curse of the Black Pearl and though I think the CGI is shaky, the story and characters look promising.

Check out the new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales! The film stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, David Wenham, Geoffrey Rush, Keith Richards and Paul McCartney. The movie opens nationwide on May 26th.
