First Trailer for 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' Previews the Epic Prequel Franchise that Shows President Snow's Rise to Power

    It's been 8 years since The Hunger Games wrapped up and Lionsgate has been trying to find a way back into the iconic franchise ever since. Now, we have the first trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, a prequel film which hits theaters this November.

    The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes stars Tom Blyth (Billy the Kid) as a young Coriolanus Snow (originally played by Donald Sutherland in the first four films) who serves as a mentor to Lucy Gray Baird (played by Rachel Zegler) who is the female tribute from District 12 in the tenth annual Hunger Games. Within the trailer we also see the rest of the cast including Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Hunter Schaefer (Euphoria), Josh Andres Rivera (West Side Story), Burn Gorman (The Offer), Jason Schwartzman (Moonrise Kingdom) and Viola Davis (The Suicide Squad).

    Francis Lawrence returns to helm his fourth movie within The Hunger Games franchise and returns to Panem. Michael Ardnt (Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens) and Michael Lesslie (Macbeth) adapt the Suzanne Collins published novel for the screen.
