'Pitch Perfect' Star Anna Camp Joins Peacock Series 'Hysteria!'

We had previously reported last week that Julie Bowen was joining the cast of the upcoming Peacock horror series, Hysteria! Now, we have a report that comes from Deadline that reports that Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect, The Help) will be added to the cast as well as a series regular.

This news comes following another report that the series will be led by Emjay Anthony, Chiara Aurelia, Kezii Curtis and Nikki Hahn. Hysteria! explores a dark history in America through a shocking story of teenage Satanic Panic. It sounds like this could be Peacock's answer to Stranger Things (especially some of the themes of last season), with this series also centering around a group of "high school misfits" in the 1980s with a horror skewing nucleus.

Camp will star as Tracy Whitehead, an argumentative Midwestern mom who has been the butt of the joke within her community for years due to her extreme religious beliefs, however, with a string of occult crimes and disappearances, she becomes the unlikely leader of her small town to take down whoever may be inspiring these crimes.

The actress will next be seen in the film, A Little Prayer alongside David Strathairn and Jane Levy. Before that, she starred in Jerry & Marge Go Large for Paramount+ with Bryan Cranston and Annette Bening.
