It was announced back in December that Lee Isaac Chung would be directing the sequel to 1996's Twister and three months later, we had announced the news that Daisy Edgar-Jones would be leading the cast. Now, we're reporting that Anthony Ramos (In the Heights, A Star is Born) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Hidden Figures).

Twister was a major hit grossing almost $500 million at the box-office starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt on the back of groundbreaking special effects. Steven Spielberg acted as an executive producer on the first film and will return to produce Twisters as well.

Ramos is best known for his breakout role as John Laurens in Hamilton. He followed that up with a supporting role in A Star is Born before leading the feature film adaptation of the Broadway show, In the Heights as Usnavi. He'll next appear in his first major franchise, starring in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. He's also set to join the MCU in the upcoming series, Ironheart as the villain known as The Hood, as well as star in Dumb Money

Powell broke out with his role in Top Gun: Maverick last year as Hangman. He recently starred in Devotion alongside Jonathan Majors and is currently filming a romantic comedy film with Sydney Sweeney that we reported on back in January. He'll next reunite with his Everybody Wants Some!! director Richard Linklater for the action-comedy Hitman.
