Keep
the trailers coming! Another one we’re bringing to you today is the trailer for
The Promise. The film is directed by Terry George (Hotel Rwanda, Reservation
Road) and stars two award-winning actors.
The Promise takes place in 1914, when
the Great War is beginning and the Ottoman Empire is crumbling, yet the
once-vibrant Constantinople is about to be derailed by mayhem and chaos. One
man from the capital, Michael, played by Oscar Isaac must escape safely with
his family. He gets help from an American reporter, played by Christian Bale
and his French girlfriend, played by Charlotte le Bon.
The
trailer is an emotional ride as it truly showcases how hard it was to be from
Istanbul during these times. Especially with a filmmaker like George too who
broke hearts with the difficult film to watch, Hotel Rwanda, it seems he may have another hit on his hands.
The
film is set to premiere at TIFF but there is no wide release date officially
announced at this time. Oscar Isaac, Christian Bale, Charlotte le Bon, Jean
Reno and James Cromwell star in this emotional drama. Watch the first trailer
below for The Promise!
