Fargo has continued to be quite a
pleasant surprise of a series. The award-winning anthology series that is
broadcast on FX is based in the same universe of the Coen brothers film of the
same name and has done very well critically and in the ratings through the
first two seasons. According to Collider,
Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been added to the cast of season 3 that is already
sparkling with talent.
Winstead
joins Ewan McGregor and Carrie Coon in the junior season in the crime series.
She is set to play a character named Nikki Swango who is a crafty alluring
recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge playing. She is a woman
with a plan, focused on always being at least one move ahead of her opponents.
The
third season is not expected to be released until 2017 and creator, Noah Hawley
is working on post-production on the debut season of the X-Men drama on FX, Legion. Winstead was seen and criminally
underrated in the film, 10 Cloverfield
Lane that was released earlier this year. In addition to that major motion
picture, she has co-starred in indie darlings Swiss Army Man and The
Hollars this year. Winstead will join a show in which their second season
just earned 18 nominations at the Emmy’s this weekend. Maybe this time in 2017,
Winstead will be nominated for the show as well.
