I’ve
only been able to watch one Amazon series thus far and it has been tremendous.
That show is Transparent and though I’m
halfway through Season 3, a review should be up before the end of the weekend.
The first trailer for another show on the streaming service was just released
today though and that show is Good Girls
Revolt.
The
show is a true story about a group of 45 women who worked at Newsweek and
brought a discrimination lawsuit against the company in 1969. It was inspired
by Lynn Povich’s book of the same title which recounted her real life
experiences of changing the workplace for women. This is obviously a show that
can relate very much to the current state of equal rights in the workplace for
women as now in 2016 we deal with another significant problem, equal pay for
women. This show looks great though and features Anna Camp, who is best known
for the Pitch Perfect films and also
Grace Gummer who is Meryl Streep’s daughter and had a supporting role on the
latest season of Mr. Robot which just
ended last night.
This
looks to have a similar look and tone to Mad Men but with women. Check out the
first trailer for Amazon original series, Good
Girls Revolt. Season 1 will be released on October 28th!
